Flying to Abu Dhabi 

It is easy to reach Abu Dhabi with the Abu Dhabi International Airport, the UAE’s second busiest airport (after Dubai) and the home base of Etihad, Abu Dhabi’s flag carrier. Since it’s launch in 2003, Etihad Airways has been expanding rapidly, and now flies everywhere from the UAE to Australia, with a world renown and remarkably good service.

Getting to the city from the airport 

  • There is a public bus service
  • Airport taxis are also available. The flat rate is around 75 dirhams and the journey from the airport to the city takes 40 minutes.

GCC citizens do not need a visa to enter the UAE.

Citizens of all other countries will need to apply for a Tourist, Transit or Visit Visa prior to their trip. If you are flying with Etihad Airways, a visit visa may be arranged for you upon request. If you have booked your trip through a travel agency, in most cases they will be able to arrange this for you. Five, four and three star hotels can apply for visas on behalf of guests.

Desert Safari in Arabian Night Village
Nestled among stunning dunes, Arabian Nights Village enables visitors to experience the mythical and timeless beauty of the desert and aspects of traditional Emirati life.

There are desert activities available for all ages, with opportunities to ride camels, rev-up quad bikes to surmount towering dunes, enjoy dune-bashing with fully qualified drivers, and sand surf down sheer inclines.

Abu Dhabi Dhow Cruise, Luxury Dhow Cruise
The dhow is a traditional vessel which was used by merchants and traders on the waters of the Gulf. Enjoy the luxury of a buffet dinner on a traditional double decker wooden dhow. Take in the breath-taking sights of Abu Dhabi in all its glory and enjoy the modern amenities available on this traditional vessel.

Abu Dhabi City Tour
No visit to Abu Dhabi is complete without a comprehensive tour of the city that includes some of the most breath-taking landmarks in the region, including Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Emirates Palace, the Gold Souk, Heritage Village, and perfectly manicured Corniche.

N.B. It is important to wear respectful and appropriate clothing on entry to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Please refrain from wearing shorts, sleeveless shirts, tight clothing, any garments that fall above the knee or elbow, transparent clothing, or swim wear or beachwear of any kind.
